QuranIqra is a calm, accessible, offline-first Holy Quran application designed for everyday reading, learning, and reflection. This Privacy Policy describes how information is treated when you use QuranIqra.
1. Offline-First Core Architecture
QuranIqra is architected so that core reading and reflection features function entirely offline without requiring an account or network connectivity:
- Bundled Arabic Quran Text: The complete 114 Surahs and 6,236 Ayahs in Indo-Pak Nastaleeq script are stored locally within the application database.
- Dua Supplications & English Meanings: Curated Quranic supplications and verified offline English verse meanings from Rowwad Translation Center (QuranEnc.com edition
english_rwwadversion 1.0.19) are packaged directly inside the app. - Daily Ayah Reflections: Daily Ayah selections rotate deterministically based on the local calendar day and are read entirely from packaged offline assets.
- No User Account: You do not need to create an account, log in, or provide personal credentials to use QuranIqra.
2. Printed Quran Page Delivery & Network Communications
To provide high-fidelity visual pages while maintaining a lightweight application download size, QuranIqra offers a Printed Quran reading experience (15-line Nastaleeq Mushaf, pages 1–611):
- On-Demand Page Retrieval: When reading the Printed Quran online, individual page images can be fetched on demand from high-performance Cloudflare edge delivery infrastructure.
- Local Caching: Recently viewed and nearby adjacent pages are stored in private application cache memory on your device so that swiping is smooth and pages can be re-read offline.
- Optional Full Offline Download: You may optionally download the complete set of 611 Printed Quran pages (~197 MB compressed archive) for complete offline access. Downloaded page files are stored exclusively in app-private device storage and can be completely removed at any time through the in-app "Manage Downloads" screen.
- Network Transmission Details: When fetching pages or checking network connectivity, standard network requests (using
android.permission.INTERNETandandroid.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) are transmitted to Cloudflare edge endpoints. Standard technical transmission information (such as your device's IP address, HTTP headers, requested page URL, and timestamp) is received and processed by Cloudflare as necessary to route and fulfill the request. QuranIqra does not operate separate user tracking, advertising, or telemetry servers, nor do we correlate page requests with your personal identity.
3. Local Storage & Device Backups
All reading states and preferences remain under your control on your physical device:
- Stored Information: Bookmarks, last-read page/Ayah positions, Arabic font scale preferences, appearance theme selections, and downloaded Mushaf archives reside strictly in app-private storage.
- Android System Backup: In accordance with standard Android platform capabilities (
android:allowBackup="true"), your local application settings and bookmarks may be included in your device's automated Google Drive backup if you have enabled device backups on your Android device. You can manage or disable this feature at any time in your device's system settings. - Data Removal: You can permanently clear all local application data, bookmarks, and cached or downloaded page assets at any time through Android Settings > Apps > QuranIqra > Storage > Clear Storage, or by uninstalling the app.
4. No Advertising, Analytics, or Tracking SDKs
QuranIqra is ad-free and tracking-free:
- We do not integrate commercial advertising networks or behavioral marketing SDKs.
- We do not employ third-party analytics trackers, crash telemetries, or user behavioral profiling tools.
- We do not request or access sensitive device hardware permissions such as precise or approximate GPS location, camera, microphone, contacts, photo libraries, or unique hardware serials.
- No analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party cookies are used on this privacy policy website.
5. External Links
QuranIqra may provide links to external websites for attribution and reference purposes (such as the Tanzil Project, QuranEnc.com, or Quran.com). When you tap an external link, it opens in your device's default web browser. Once an external website is opened, that third party's privacy policy and terms govern.
6. Children's Privacy
QuranIqra is designed for individuals and families of all ages seeking to read and reflect upon the Holy Quran. We do not knowingly collect, request, or solicit personal information from children or adults.
7. Policy Updates
This policy reflects version 0.2.4 (code 7) of QuranIqra. If future updates introduce changes to data handling, network features, or third-party integrations, this policy will be promptly updated with a revised effective date.
